Scope of Work
1. Description of Tasks The Contractor shall furnish all supervision, materials, equipment and vehicles, tools, parts, labor, transportation, lodging, and miscellaneous items to clean out three (3) watershed stock tanks. These stock tanks have been filled with sediment and ash from watersheds that were burned during the 2020 Bighorn Fire. These tanks need sediment removal and dike repair to bring them back to their original water storage potential.
The work to be completed will be to remove sediment from the stock tanks without jeopardizing their integrity and to maintain or repair dams or spillways damaged due to increased sediment transport.
Work could begin June 2022 and may last through August 2023 depending on moisture and ability to clean the tanks during favorable conditions.
2. General Work Location The project is located on the Santa Catalina Ranger District in Pima County, Arizona.
The project is located east of Tucson, Arizona, north of Redington Pass, and southwest of the town of Redington within the Bellota Allotment.
The project area is accessed from the Redington Rd. (see Attachment 1-Map). The suggested route for Donovan Tank would be to take the Redington Road south from Oracle/Redington to the Piety Hill Rd. Follow Piety Hill to Donovan Ridge Rd, and then to Donovan Tank Rd.
For Bull Tank, take Redington Rd south to Bullock Canyon Rd. From Bull Tank you can either head across the Bullock Canyon Rd to Government Tank, or head back to Redington Rd to the Bellota Ranch Rd. The COR and permittee will be available to assist with access and routes to the sites.
Access from the Redington/Cascabel side of Redington Road is the best option, as lowboys will not be able to make the switch backs on the Tucson side and must be walked in.
3. Time Limit The Contractor will have (2) two weeks per tank to complete this task. The contractor shall coordinate all services under this contract with the Contracting Officer’s Representative prior to the commencement of work. If conditions are not suitable (i.e. stock tank is not dry enough), notify COR to reschedule cleanout.
4. Contractors Task List Tasks to be performed include:
• Remove sediment, using heavy equipment, from the stock tanks without jeopardizing their integrity and to maintain or repair dams or spillways damaged due to increased sediment transport.
5. Contractor Capability The contractor shall have the relevant experience and technical knowledge to perform the watershed stock tank clean out services.
(a) The contractor shall provide the number of years in this line of work.
(b) The contractor shall provide a minimum of three (3) relative projects performing the same services or similar scope of size within the last three (3) years on a one
(1) page (8 ½ by 11). At a minimum the contractor shall include:
i. Contract Number:
ii. Award Amount:
iii. Contract Name and Telephone Number:
iv. Project Title and Description of work performed:
v. Date of Award and Period of Performance:
vi. Identify - Prime Contractor or Subcontractor
The description of work performed should be in sufficient detail for the Government to determine what the work included. (i.e., what tasks were performed). Use of only a project title does not usually provide enough detail for the Government to make an evaluation.
