About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details a procurement by the Atlantic Test Range's Telemetry Branch for signal distribution units to support real-time data processing in a new mission control center. The requirement includes ten (10) Universal Switching Corporation (USC) MDU4-C2V20000 signal distribution units and one (1) XMDU4-U2 SDI Digital Video card. These specialized units will process telemetry signals from aircraft or test articles, with specific technical requirements including compatibility with existing telemetry equipment, modular input/output capabilities, rack mountability, and high security design (no FIFO or RAM data storage). The devices must support simultaneous recording, processing, and analyzing of signals using 1:4 distribution sections for TTL and video signals, with features like BNC connectors, jumper-selectable input impedance, and redundant power supplies. The delivery timeline is fourteen (14) weeks after receipt of order, with units requiring wide-range AC input and Ethernet monitoring capabilities.

Statement of Work for:

Signal Distribution Units for 2611

1.0 Background

The Atlantic Test Range, Telemetry Branch is procuring ten (10) Unversial Switching Corporation (USC) MDU4-C2V20000 signal distribution units, and one (1) XMDU4-U2 SDI Digital Video card. These distribution units will be used by the Atlantic Test Range’s (ATR) Telemetry Branch for real-time data processing to support operations in a new mission control center (MCC).

2.0 Scope

The Real-Time Telemetry Processing System (RTPS) provides processing and display of data which is collected and transmitted as telemetry signals from the aircraft or other test article. RTPS receives the telemetry signals, decodes each individual measurement included in the signals received, computes additional "derived measurements' needed, and makes all measurements available for display in a Project Engineer Station (PES). The actual data displays are then selected by the Flight Test Engineers according to the requirements of the specific test being conducted. RTPS operations are conducted and data processed in a sequential collection of equipment called a stream.

3.0 Objectives/Task

Telemetry signals transport data using pairs of Transistor-transistor logic (TTL) signals and Analog IRIG AM time signals over 75 ohm cable lines. As part of the Atlantic Test Range’s data processing system, these TTL and analog signals may need to be further divided and distributed without loss. A signal distribution / signal amplifier is a device that receives a signal and outputs 2,4,6,etc lossless copies of this input. This allows the same signal to be distributed across various Telemetry equipment to conduct simultaneous recording, processing, and analyzing in real-time. The selected distribution unit must be compatible with existing telemetry equipment, modular to allow different matrixes of inputs and outputs, and be rack mountable in different rack arrangements (front, back, and middle) with a limited footprint (1U). The equipment must also be designed for use in high security environments - not employing any type of FIFO or RAM devices within the data path capable of storing or reconstructing data when power has been removed from the system.
