The contractor shall meet the standards in this contract.

1.2 Background: Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS) is an industrial complex whose mission is to maintain, modernize and retire the Navy fleet with a vision of on-time maintenance, modernization, and retirement of the U.S. Navy’s fleet. The shipyard in Bremerton is the Pacific Northwest's largest naval shore facility and one of Washington State’s largest industrial installations.

To accomplish this mission PSNS utilizes these cable trailers for crane certification. To meet the mission’s demand, the government must rent 2 ea. cable trailers to subsidize the trailers we currently own, because they are inoperable, and we are still waiting on parts for vendor repair.

1.3 Objectives: The requirement is to provide 2 leased cable trailers to support floater crane certification, this is a mission critical deadline. If our current floater crane does not get certified on time, this could postpone PSNS project milestones in the future.
