New Mexico Navajo South Agency Baca/Dlo'Ayahzi Community School Prewitt, New Mexico 87045 Scope of Work Automatic Rolling Entrance Gate with Key Card Access System Overview:

Baca/Dlo'Ayazhi Community School is in need of an Automatic Rolling Entrance Gate with Key Card Access System. The school is adjacent to major Interstate 40 which sees very high volume of traffic. This system will ensure controlled access only authorized individuals, staff, and registered visitors—can enter the premises. This significantly reduces the risk of intruders, vandalism, and other security breaches. The presence of an automated gate acts as a strong visual deterrent to potential threats. Gates can be linked to CCTV, intercoms, and emergency alert systems for a layered security approach. It will help prevent unauthorized entry. Automated gates help keep students safe by restricting access to outsiders during school hours. This will manage vehicle traffic flow during peak times (drop-off/pick-up), reducing congestion and minimizing accidents. Every entry and exit can be recorded, providing a clear audit trail for security reviews and incident investigations. In emergencies, gates can be instantly locked down, locked remotely to prevent intruders from moving freely across campus. It also will alleviate and eliminate the need for staff to manually open/close gates, saving time and reducing human error. Many school facility design guidelines (including BIE standards) recommend electronic access systems for controlled entry points to meet safety and operational requirements.
