The bonder must include a dot matrix printer capable of printing time, date, program descriptions, tag numbers, part numbers, employee IDs, temperature-time graphs, set points, and alarm records. Additional specifications require 40 to 50 hours of cure record storage, 8 to 10 ramps and dwells per program, 25 to 35 cure profiles, graphic and numeric displays with temperature and vacuum monitoring, alphanumeric keypad input, 1°F or 1°C temperature increments, active thermocouple monitoring, auditory and display alarms, PID control with tuning, maximum weight of 40 pounds, side handles, front-mounted circuit breakers, and CE certification in English.

Each kit also includes two input power cables (120V, 15A, minimum 10 feet), two output power cables (125V with two NEMA 5-15 receptacles), twenty Type J thermocouples (22-24 AWG, Teflon insulated, 500°F rated, MIL STD 45662A compliant, minimum 10 feet), four vacuum hoses with sniffers (high-temperature Teflon with stainless steel braiding, 10 feet minimum), one external air filter assembly for vacuum supply, one bonder calibration equipment set, Windows 10-compatible data storage and analysis software with network sharing capability, six heat blankets of varying sizes (10 to 15 inches, 393W to 1125W), MIL-STD-130N compliant labeling, four printer paper rolls, and four printer ribbons per kit.

MEMORANDUM FOR RECORD

SUBJECT: Item Description, A26-038 KC46 Hot Bonders

1. The Aircraft Maintenance Group (AMXG) is requesting the purchase of eight (8) each Hot Bonder Kits.

2. The requested equipment item descriptions/specifications are outlined below.

Eight (8) Hot Bonder Kits, each kit includes the following:

A. One (1) Dual Zone Hot Bonder

1) Each zone should include the following:

a. Separate sensor inputs for heat application, vacuum, and time

b. 10 to 15 thermocouple inputs

c. Can be independently powered and operated, and can also be run as one

d. 120V, 30A

2) Dot matrix printer that includes the capability to print the following:

a. Time, date, and program description

b. Record of Tag Number, P/N, Employee ID

c. Time and temperature graph

d. Set point, temperatures, and vacuum at specified intervals

e. Thermocouple temperature summary

f. Record of alarm conditions, program changes, and adjustments

3) Stores 40 to 50 hours of cure record information for export

4) 8 to 10 ramps and dwells per program

5) 25 to 35 cure profiles

6) Screen for graphic and numeric displays, including temperature and vacuum with option for user selected units, including English units

7) Alphanumeric keypad for text entry and revision

8) Temperature adjustments made in increments of at most 1°F or 1°C, depending on user selection

9) Active monitoring of all thermocouples

10) Shall have auditory and display alarm

11) Alarm causes a hold condition until issue is resolved

12) Shall include alarms for the following:

a. High or low temperature deviations for ramp and dwell

b. Low vacuum

c. Timer

13) Internal vacuum system including the following:

a. Adjustable up to 28 in. Hg

b. Runs off plant air, adjustable to a maximum 100 PSI

c. Maximum flow rate of 0.75 cubic ft/min

d. Operates on 90-264VAC

14) PID control with tuning

15) Maximum weight of 40lbs

16) Handles on sides

17) Circuit breakers located on front control panel

18) CE Certified

19) Language: English

20) Hot bonder operation and maintenance manual provided

B. Two (2) Input power cable, Straight blade connector, 120V, 15A, Minimum length 10ft

C. Two (2) Output power cable, 125V, includes the following:

1) Thermoplastic junction box

2) Two NEMA 5-15 receptacles, 15A ea.

3) Minimum length 10ft

D. Twenty (20) Type J Thermocouples must include the following:

1) 22-24 AWG

2) Vacuum sealed Teflon insulated

3) Temperature rated to minimum 500°F

4) Welded tip

5) Minimum length 10ft

6) Compliance with MIL STD 45662A

7) Molded plug

8) Compatible with hot bonder

E. Four (4) Vacuum Hose with sniffer:

1) High temperature Teflon hose

a. Minimum length 10ft

b. Stainless steel braided protective wrap

2) Quick release fitting

3) High temperature machined aluminum vacuum sniffer

F. One (1) External air filter assembly for vacuum air supply system

1) In-line filter, bulb style

2) Installs to plant air connection

3) Quick disconnect on plant air side and output side

a. ¼” NPT female threads

G. One (1) Bonder Calibration Equipment

1) Shall include the following:

a. Calibration Certificate and operator manual

b. Digital Temperature Calibrator

c. Thermocouple Interconnect Cable

d. Calibrated Vacuum Gauge 0-30 inHg, ¼ NPT connection

e. Hose Assembly and Adapter

2) Shall be compatible with hot bonder H. Software computer program for data storage, display, and analysis

1) Compatible with Windows 10 and newer

2) Data sharing over network with hot bonder

3) Time, temperature, and vacuum events log

4) Time stamped alarms, program changes, power-loss events, and program step changes

5) Built-in Excel spreadsheet Format Data Export and print function
