About this file
This document is a detailed specification (A2_SPEC_Rev_A) for manufacturing submarine safety rail stanchions for the Naval Submarine Support Facility. The specification requires the contractor to manufacture specific parts: two units of part number 26-1240-03, twelve units of 20-1232-02, six units of 22-1246-14, and five units of 23-1249-01, to be delivered to Sub Base New London in Groton, CT. Delivery must occur Monday through Friday between 0700-1330 EST, with specific base access requirements including obtaining DBIDS credentials, presenting valid identification, and completing a background check.
The related federal contract opportunity is a sole-source notice indicating the Navy's intent to award a firm fixed-price contract to GK Mechanical Systems LLC for manufacturing submarine safety rail stanchions. The notice, published in accordance with FAR 5.101, allows alternative suppliers to submit capability statements demonstrating manufacturing ability by 5:00 PM EST on 06JAN26. Responses should be sent to Stephanie Neale and Roland Parrilla, with the government retaining discretion to determine contract competitiveness. The most recent update on 12/16/2025 includes an additional contract line item for manufacturing products using a GK Mechanical proprietary drawing.
