About this file

This document is a Justification for Other than Full and Open Competition (J&A) from the National Park Service (NPS) for a BAND Wildlife Management Ammunition Purchase. The NPS is seeking to purchase Barnes Vor-TX ammunition specifically for wildlife management operations at Bandelier National Monument, with Defense Technology 12 GA Drag Stabilized Round Part# 3027 as the targeted product. The justification cites unique product qualifications including specific use for commissioned employees' park resources management, wildlife rounds testing with superior range and accuracy, and specialized ammunition for bear management operations.

The document outlines the procurement approach under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) guidelines, noting that for acquisitions over $25,000, solicitations will be issued on SAM.gov. The pricing details are redacted, and the procurement is being justified as a sole-source acquisition based on the specific technical requirements of the ammunition for wildlife management purposes. The document includes multiple levels of certification and review, with digital signatures from NPS contracting personnel, and is dated June 06, 2025, indicating a future procurement planning process.
