About this file

This is a Sources Sought Notice (SSN) issued by the Department of the Interior, National Park Service (NPS), Denver Service Center for market research purposes. The notice solicits information from both large and small businesses regarding their qualifications and interest in a construction project to replace the Jones Point Trailer at Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve in Marrero, Louisiana. No proposals are being requested or accepted at this time; responses are voluntary and will not be reimbursed. The NAICS code is 236220 (Commercial and Institutional Building Construction) with a size standard of $45 million.

The project scope includes construction activities valued between $1,000,000 and $6,000,000 across four areas: interior renovations to the Education Center with window and chiller replacement; interior and restroom renovations to the Admin Building; site work at the Maintenance Complex and Admin Building parking areas including gate, fence, paving, and canopy work; and site work at Jones Point involving removal of the existing trailer and site reclamation. The anticipated period of performance is 490 calendar days, and winter construction may be required. Key project constraints include that the park will remain open during construction to minimize visitor impact, the site is 15 miles from nearest suppliers and lodging, protective measures are required to preserve the surrounding area, the structure is located in a historic district, and bonding (Bid, Performance, and Payment Bonds) is anticipated to be required. A competitive Request for Proposals (RFP) is anticipated for August/September 2026 with a single Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) contract award. Interested contractors must submit a completed SSN Survey Questionnaire by 5:00 PM Mountain Time on June 10, 2026, to Carlos Garcia at carlos_garcia@ios.doi.gov.
