About this file
This document is a detailed Statement of Work (SOW) for maintenance services on Ships Service Diesel Generators (SSDG) for the USNS Robert F. Kennedy (TAO 208). The maintenance requires an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) authorized Rolls-Royce Bergen Diesel Engine representative to perform comprehensive technical services, including troubleshooting start-up faults, engine inspection, performance testing, and crew familiarization for two diesel engines (serial numbers 16501 & 16502) located in the Main Machinery Room. The work is part of a Navy Military Sealift Command contract, with a performance period from 11 September to 5 October 2025 in Norfolk, VA, involving specific maintenance tasks such as temporary disassembly, component inspection, repairs, and detailed reporting requirements.
Key technical requirements include using only OEM parts, conducting cylinder temperature and pressure recordings, completing a minimum four-hour performance test, and submitting comprehensive reports detailing engine conditions, measurements, and any defects discovered. The contractor must provide daily written reports to the vessel's Chief Engineer, use authorized field service representatives, and comply with specific quality assurance and safety protocols. All maintenance must adhere to the reference technical manual and meet IMO certification standards for critical shipboard safety items, with potential for contract modification if additional work is required.
