About this file

This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for maintenance services on main reduction gears for two Military Sealift Command ships, USNS Yuma and USNS Burlington. The work will be performed at Rhoads Industries in Philadelphia, PA during the period of 01-15 May 2025, involving four reduction gears per ship (ZF 60000 NR2H model) located in each ship's Jet Drive Rooms.

The SOW requires an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) authorized field service representative to conduct comprehensive maintenance, including annual inspections, long-term storage, and anti-corrosion procedures. Specific tasks include inspecting tension hardware, cleaning oil filter units, visually examining clutch discs and gears, and applying corrosion protection oil and grease. The representative must submit detailed condition reports in typewritten and PDF formats, with all work performed under manufacturer guidance and in the presence of ship's personnel. This is classified as a critical safety item maintenance contract, requiring strict adherence to manufacturer standards and performance specifications.
