About this file
This document is a specifications sheet for equipment procurement issued by the U.S. Department of the Interior, Fish and Wildlife Service at St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge in Florida. The specifications detail requirements for one articulating, all-wheel-drive (AWD) compact tractor with attachments, specifically a Ventrac tractor or equivalent model, designed for slope mowing operations up to 30 degrees.
The tractor must feature a 32 horsepower gasoline EFI liquid-cooled engine, full-time AWD with articulation/oscillation joint, front PTO compatibility, dual front auxiliary hydraulics with flat-face quick couplers, third-function hydraulics, and a fuel capacity of at least 6 gallons with a minimum runtime of 5 hours for typical mowing. Electrical requirements include a front 12V system with at least 60 ampere alternator, LED work lights, and backup alarm. The tractor must accommodate all-terrain tires with factory dual-wheel kit and maintain a transport width of 48 inches or less with single tires and 68 inches or less with duals. Additional safety and operational features required include a foldable ROPS, seat belt, operator presence detection, parking brake interlock, and noise levels not exceeding 88 dBA at the operator position. Required attachments include a 48-inch brush cutter for vegetation up to 3 inches in diameter, a boom mower with 103-inch horizontal reach for material up to ½ inch diameter, a turbine blower, a mower deck with 83 total cutting width in three floating front decks with rear discharge and adjustable height settings, and a power grapple. The procurement includes a 2-year commercial warranty and a preventive maintenance kit covering 500 hours of service with engine oil and filters, hydraulic filter, fuel filter, air elements, mower blades, and belts.
