Specs 4-YD and 8-YD Refuse Dumpsters Yellowstone National Park

NUMBER OF AWARDS

A Single Award Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for supplies shall be awarded to under this solicitation.

MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM DELIVERY ORDER AMOUNTS

During the period specified, including all options exercised by the Government, the minimum quantity of supplies ordered by the Government shall be not less than seven total, combined five three 4-Yard and four 8-Yard dumpsters, and a maximum of 45 combined 4-Yard and 8-Yard Dumpsters as determined by delivery orders placed against the IDIQ during each of the 5 period of performances (base period plus four option periods). The total quantity of supplies ordered in all orders shall not exceed 225 dumpsters during the life of the contract.

REQUIREMENT

This acquisition is in support of Yellowstone National Park and is for Refuse Dumpsters 4-Yard and 8-Yard. To be eligible for award offers shall meet the following minimum salient characteristics.

SPECIFICATIONS:

4 Yard Dumpster:

A. Physical Properties

a. Conforms to ANSI Z245.6

b. 4 cubic yard capacity

c. Dimensions as illustrated below

d. Front loading

e. Front dumping

f. Chute style loading door

g. Step to aid access to loading door B. Fabricated Welded Dumpster Box

a. 12 gauge pickled and oiled sheet steel

i. Fabricated welded box C. 100% welds on the exterior, staggered welds on the interior.

a. 3/16” wrap around bumper plates extending 8” along front surface, reinforcing the corners of the dumpsters that will be contacting the truck.

b. 1 ½” Threaded Pipe Coupling and Cap welded to lower back corner side of dumpster (one per container).

D. Unloading Door

a. Steel tubing Door Frame, made of no less than 70% recycled carbon steel.

b. 12 gauge pickled and oiled sheet steel skin and chute cover.

c. Four sandwich hinges mounted to door frame and dumpster box.

i. Sandwich hinges made of 3/8” plate, ¾” through bolt with lock nut.

E. All hinges fully welded to Unloading Door Frame and Dumpster Box.

a. Latch that will release unloading door automatically when dumping and reengages as the dumpster is lowered. Unloading door cannot be opened without manually disengaging latches.

b. Latch Drawings for the 4-Yard dumpster shall be submitted with quote. Inspection of latch drawing by a park representative shall meet approval prior to award.

F. Loading Chute

a. 12 gauge pickled and oiled sheet steel.

b. Hinges forward for loading.

c. Chute bottom prevents access to contents of container when chute is open.

d. Chute must close when released to prevent it from being left open.

e. Chute must latch automatically when closed.

f. Sides to prevent refuse from getting between the chute door and the chute body preventing it from closing.

g. Two handles to allow access from either end of the step.

h. 36” x 20” opening for refuse disposal.

i. Maximum of 3/16” gap between chute and chute cover.

G. Step

a. Built to support 250 lbs.

b. Open tread surface to prevent snow and debris build-up.

c. Raised tread to prevent slipping.

H. Bottom Skids

a. 3” tall tube steel

b. Tapered and capped ends.

I. Lifting Pockets.

a. Fabricated 12-gauge carbon steel.

b. Fully welded to dumpster sides.

c. Lifting pockets shall have sloped top to eliminate shelf.

d. Front of the lifting pocket shall be tapered to guide forks into the pocket.

J. Finish

a. Sandblasted to SSPC-SP 5/NACE Standard “white finish”, and powder coated with “Super Durable TGIC” polyester topcoat.

b. No Labels.

c. Color: National Park Service Brown

4-Yard Dumpster shall conform to the following dimensions:

Bottom of chute needs to be shorter but weigh the same to ensure the self-closing feature. The current design allows garbage to stick and not drop into collection box.

The chute inside of the dumpster. The dotted line area needs to be 5 to 6 inches shorter and maintain the same dump characteristics. (IE. weight) increased plate size to maintain the weighted operations of the chute.

8-Yard Dumpster A. Conforms to ANSI Z245.60 for Type S Waste Containers.

B. 8 cubic yard capacity.

C. Dimensions matching those detailed below D. Sliding loading doors on both sides.

E. Unloading door hinged in the center of the container F. Body constructed of 12 gage or thicker sheet.

G. Body fully welded on the exterior with staggered welds on the interior.

H. 3/16” wrap around bumper plates extending 24” along front surface at point of contact with lifting device.

I. 1 1/2” threaded pipe coupling drain with cap located in lower rear corner of container.

J. Unloading door framed in steel tubing.

K. Minimum of four unloading door hinges constructed of 3/8” plate.

L. 3/4” diameter hinge bolts with locking nuts M. Hinges fully welded to body and unloading door.

N. Loading doors with hasps for locking.

O. Loading doors with gravity pin to secure doors automatically when moved into closed position.

P. Skids allow 3” of access under the container.

Q. Skids with tapered and capped ends.

R. Lifting pockets with tapered top edge and no external flat horizontal surfaces.

S. Lifting pockets with tapered leading edges to guide lifting device.

T. Sandblasted to SSPC-SP6/NAC #3 “Commercial Blast” and powder coated with “Super Durable TGIC” polyester topcoat.

U. National Park Service Brown or agreed equivalent color topcoat.

V. Shipped fully assembled.

8-Yard Dumpsters shall conform to the following dimensions:

Side Door handles need to be no more than 2 inches wide. If the handles are wider than 2 inch they catch on the side of packer when dumping.

One each prototype of 4-Yard and 8-Yard dumpster shall be delivered FOB destination to Yellowstone National Park for inspection by a park representative prior to manufacturing the remaining dumpsters. Address for delivery is: West Yellowstone National Park Maintenance, West Yellowstone, MT 59758. The delivery site is located between Crawfoot Ridge Drive and Mt Holmes Drive, less than one mile east of West Yellowstone Montana. Price for dumpsters shall include shipping to West Yellowstone, MT 59758.
