About this file
This document is a Department of Interior Post-2023 Light Vehicle Striping and Graphics Standard for the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), Bureau of Land Management (BLM), and National Park Service (NPS). The standard provides comprehensive guidelines for vehicle graphics, including specific requirements for reflective striping, lettering, numbering, agency emblems, and identifier placement on light vehicles (21,500 GVWR and under) ordered in 2023 or later.
Key specifications include using reflective materials like 3M Scotchlite for striping, applying graphics according to NFPA 1900 and ASTM D4965 standards, and defining precise placement and sizing for elements such as agency emblems, unit identifiers, equipment identifiers, and warning labels. The document details color requirements for different agencies (e.g., Blue for FWS, Black for BLM), mandates Arial Bold font, and specifies graphic dimensions for front bumpers, side panels, cab doors, and roof. Additional requirements cover interior labels, warning placards, and guidelines for maintaining a professional, standardized appearance across different vehicle types and agencies.
