About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details grading services for a 3-acre event area at the Bureau of Land Management's Grand Junction Field Office in Colorado. The contractor will level and grade a gravel surface to create a stable, functional area capable of supporting large gatherings, vehicles, and structures like tents and stages. Specific requirements include leveling the surface within a +/- 1-inch tolerance, ensuring proper drainage to prevent water accumulation, compacting the gravel to achieve 95% maximum dry density, and creating smooth transitions for vehicles and pedestrians. The work must comply with American Public Works Association (APWA) specifications for grading and drainage, and a no-cost pre-work meeting will be held to discuss project details and timing to avoid interference with scheduled events. The project is associated with a NEPA environmental assessment (DOI-BLM-CO-S080-2018-0037-EA) for a 18 Road Mountain Bike Event Venue.
