DETAILED SPECIFICATIONS

Item 00010 – Jump Drill Seeding

APPROXIMATE ACREAGE: 3,915

APPROXIMATE START DATE: 09/15/2025

PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: 40 days

LOCATION OF WORK SITE AS SHOWN ON WORK LOCATION MAPS:

An area of 3,915 acres within the Jump Fire will be drill seeded. The project is located in Owyhee County, Idaho, half a mile east of the Idaho/Oregon border. Access to the site is from State Highway 95, traveling 4 miles south on Sands Basin Road. Legal description (Township and Range) is: T01N R05W, T01N R06W, T02N R06W, T02N R05W. Terrain of the project area is rolling hills with surface and subsurface rock, rock outcroppings, and an elevation range of 3,875-4,570 feet. Slopes average about 12% across the project area.

TYPE OF SEEDING EQUIPMENT TO BE SUPPLIED BY THE GOVERNMENT: Six standard rangeland drills in two separate three drill cart set-ups. Contractor shall furnish 2 tractors to pull the drill set-ups.

LOCATION OF SEEDING EQUIPMENT TO BE SUPPLIED BY THE GOVERNMENT: Rangeland drills will be delivered and set up at the work site by the Government.

LOCATION OF SEED: Seed will be delivered to the project site by the Government. The seed will be stored in a government furnished trailer. The trailer will be delivered to a location designated by the Government as close to the work site as possible but still accessible to a tractor-trailer.

KIND OF SEED AND RATE OF APPLICATION: Mixed seed will be furnished by the Government. The seed will come in 50 lb. bags. There will be one seed mix for this contract.

AVERAGE DEPTH OF SEEDING: ½ to ¾ inch

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Contractor shall be required to drill close to big rock outcrops and through small rock outcrops. There is surface and subsurface rock in the seeding area. Contractor is asked to avoid very rocky areas so as not to do damage to their equipment or the Government furnished drills. The Project Inspector or COR will help determine acres drillable. Contractor will be responsible for all fence repairs if wires are cut, and posts are removed. Upon completion of the project, the Contractor shall leave the drills at a location on the work site as directed by the Project Inspector or COR.
