Visual Informa�on Specialist - 1104528
Technology transfer is an element in all Na�onal Technology and Development Program (NTDP) project work. NTDP shares its solu�ons through technical �ps, project reports, training curriculum, videos, qualified products list, specifica�ons, drawings, brochures, posters, etc. NTDP provides support across deputy chief areas for projects na�onal in scope and represents the agency’s commitment to service through produc�on of communica�on materials.
The poten�al contractor is responsible for designing and preparing a wide range of visual and mul�media presenta�ons and products by providing photography, graphic design, desktop publishing, and page layout projects using Adobe Crea�ve Suite, Microso� Word, and other desktop publishing so�ware. Poten�al contractors will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
Required skills:
• Strong design background and experience in Adobe Crea�ve Suite (poten�al contractor will provide examples of layout work completed in inDesign and other work performed in Photoshop and Illustrator).
• Familiarity with and understanding of Sec�on 508 accessibility standards.
• Strong organiza�onal skills to assist with se�ng up file structures and organizing various types of mul�media (videos, photos, etc.).
Desired skills:
• Familiarity with Plain Language Wri�ng Guidelines, general edi�ng techniques, and GPO Style Manual requirements
• Familiarity with Vimeo and Flickr
Projects for layout will consist of text reviewed by editors, along with graphics, images, tables, and mathema�cal formulas. All graphics, etc., should be arranged so that they align with and are in close proximity to references in the document. Graphics, etc., may require redesign or altera�on to show consistency in theme, shape, and color. Designed graphics, etc., will match the style and color schemes of the overall project.
Contractor will work closely with editors, other VIS, and subject mater experts to address other graphic design, layout, or mul�media projects as needed.
