Scope of Services 3D Relief Map Painting

Death Valley National Park March 1, 2022

Part 1: Background/Objective/Scope

I. Background:

Death Valley National Park visitor center is committed to providing accurate and accessible information about the park boundary. The John D. Dingell, Jr. Conservation, Management, and Recreation Act (Public Law 116-9) transferred approximately 35,000 acres of land from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to the National Park Service. The boundary changes need to be reflected in the accessible 3d relief map within the Furnace Creek Visitor Center.

II. Objective:

Relief Map painting to indicate new park boundary after the Dingell Act. Services also include general touch up of the relief map. This includes sanding down the old dashes, adding in new dashes and repainting so that one will not notice the old boundary. Other touch up and repainting on site. Travel and shipping of equipment shall be included in contractor’s price. The Government estimates that the Contractor will need access to the model for up to 5 consecutive full days, working 8 – 10 hours a day.

III. Scope:

A. Sanding down old boundary B. Adding painted lines that match the old color C. Touch up of the entire 3D relief map
