WASHINGTON MONUMENT MOLD REMEDIATION

BACKGROUND

The Washington Monument is one of the Nation’s most iconic monuments and visited by millions of people a year. Last year the HVAC system became inoperable and temporary units had to be placed at the 490 and 500 foot levels. These units created more moisture than would normally be present at those levels. This moisture led to the growth of mold on interior stone walls at the levels where the visitors and employees congregate.

The purpose of this contract is to remediate the mold at the 490 and 500 foot levels inside of the Washington Monument and restore the interior as it was before the work was performed.

Washington Monument, 2 15th St NW, Washington, DC 20024
