About this file

This is a specifications document for autoclave procurement by the USDA-ARS Water Quality and Ecology Research Unit at the National Sedimentation Laboratory in Oxford, Mississippi. The agency seeks a 90-liter benchtop horizontal front-loading autoclave equivalent to the Systec DX-90 to support soil and water quality research operations.

The required equipment must meet precise technical specifications including a chamber volume of 90 liters with external dimensions not exceeding 75 cm (width) × 63 cm (height) × 97 cm (depth) to fit within existing laboratory space. The autoclave must operate on 208V, 3-phase power and feature a cylindrical pressure vessel with smooth interior for easy cleaning, a hinged front-loading door with pressure-locking and automatic safety interlocks, and capable of accommodating large flasks up to 3000 mL Erlenmeyer flasks, soil containers, culture vessels, and wrapped loads. Critical performance requirements include an operating temperature range of 100–140°C, operating pressure up to 3.8 bar, temperature stability of ±0.3°C or less, an integrated steam generator, active rapid cooling system, and flexible temperature probe housed in the system for direct monitoring. The system must include on-board USB capability for cycle data download. The procurement requires that the vendor provide delivery, installation, technician training, and all shipping costs as part of the contract execution.

SPECIFICATIONS

The USDA-ARS Water Quality and Ecology Research Unit in Oxford, MS, is seeking an autoclave that provides the combination of an integrated vacuum system, rapid active cooling, and vacuum drying. The detailed speci cations are necessary to ensure rapid processing of the sample load at the National Sedimentation Laboratory to complete mission-critical work. While rapid processing of this system is a necessity, the accuracy it provides for a variety of cycles will greatly enhance our sterilization capability. Upon successful procurement and execution, system must be delivered, installed, and technicians trained in use.

The Water Quality and Ecology Research Unit of the National Sedimentation Laboratory is seeking to procure a 90-liter benchtop horizaontal front loading autoclave equivalent to Systec DX-90, to conduct analyses for soil and water quality research.
