Supply and Installation of High-Traffic Carpeting and Luxury Vinyl Flooring

Description:
1. Install high traffic carpet and vinyl flooring in the 1400 square-foot Building 750 Bunkhouse in the Heart O Hills area of Olympic National Park. Current flooring in the entire unit is asbestos tile. This requirement is to install carpet and vinyl over all the asbestos tile; there is no asbestos remediation or abatement required.
a. Carpeting: High traffic style carpet to be installed in all bedrooms and associated closets, hallway and associated closets, living room and associated closet and dining room.
b. Vinyl flooring: Luxury vinyl plank flooring to be installed in the kitchen, bathrooms, and utility room.
c. Please see attached Legend for floor layout.
d. Government will provide removal of the following before work starts to ensure rooms are empty for installation of the flooring:
i. All furniture
ii. All interior doors
iii. Hot water tank/water closets
iv. Stove
v. Fridge
vi. Washer/Dryer
e. The contractor shall:
i. Verify appropriate quantities of carpet, vinyl plank flooring, transition products, transition strips for transitions between carpet and tile, tack strip, adhesive and any other flooring accessories and incidentals required to complete installation.
ii. Provide minimum of three (3) carpet samples and (3) vinyl samples to Park staff in various Earth Tone colors to choose final colors from.
NOTE: Contractor shall deliver samples to Park staff no later than Friday, September 27, 2024.
iii. Supply all equipment, labor, and materials required to complete the installation.
iv. At work completion, clean work area of all scraps, remnants and other debris created during work execution.
v. Coordinate work schedule with the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR). COR, or designated Park staff, will inspect installation for acceptance for the entire building upon completion of work.
Period of Performance:
The Period of Performance for this requirement is 9/15/2024 – 11/15/2024.
Site-Visit:
A site-visit will be available between 2p-3p PDT, on Tuesday, August 20th for vendors interested in taking measurements. Please RSVP to Dave_Weaver@nps.gov with your name, company name, and phone number.
Work hours:
Access to building 750 will be from 7:00am to 7:00pm Monday through Friday, excluding Federal Holidays. Coordinate work-start schedule at minimum 2 days in advance with the COR.
Location:
The Heart O Hills Bunkhouse building 750 is located approximately 5.1 miles up Hurricane Ridge Rd. from Port Angeles. Follow Mt. Angeles Rd to Hurricane Ridge Rd, take Hurricane Ridge Road for approximately 5.1 miles and turn Right onto Lake Angeles Heather’s Park Trail Road, immediately before the entrance station to Hurricane Ridge. Building 750 will be on the right in the parking lot. Building 750 is located within the highlighted area on the map below, and is marked “750”.
