Scope of Work
Purchase and deliver road material needed at Everglades Headwaters National Wildlife Refuge (Refuge).
Purchase and deliver the following material:
Roadbase (baserock)
Need 900 cubic yards/CY (~1,455 tons) of non-FDOT, roadbase such as shell-stabilized base or equivalent. The size of the material is approximately 1.5 inches to dust. If recycled concrete aggregate is used, it must be from a source that has a Florida Department of Environmental Protection/FDEP permit per section 62-701.730 or be qualified as a clean debris source under FDEP's rules to assure that there are no toxic contaminants in the material such as asbestos or lead. Mixtures with asphalt are not acceptable.
Delivery
Delivery will be to the project site in Okeechobee County, Florida as shown on map (Lat: 27.511111°N / Long:
-81.145958°. W). Note that the only available access is via CR-68 off Hwy 98. There is no west-bound access on
NW 256st via The Vikings due to a washed-out culvert. See attached maps for access details. The material will be tail-gate spread as directed by staff at the time of delivery. Once roadbed delivery begins, approximately 10 trucks can be accepted daily (no less than 5 trucks daily), during regular working hours (7:30 AM to 3:30 PM).
Delivery will not be made when conditions are so wet that delivery will damage existing roads.
It is the contractor’s responsibility to visit the site prior to bidding and know existing delivery and dumping conditions.
