This pole shed building is assigned to Risk Category II. It will be constructed utilizing a pre-engineered metal building (PEMB).
4.1 Foundation
A 6-inch thick compacted gravel pad composed of 57 stone (or equivalent) will be constructed by the Contractor. The pad will be installed upon a geotextile fabric mat. The geotextile material will be provided by FWS. Geotextile panels will be continuously overlapped by a minimum of 12 inches at all joints.
4.2 Superstructure
The facility will be a one-story pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) of integrated design, fabricated from plate steel. The frames support wind girts in the walls as well as roof purlins or joists, which are oriented normal to the frames. The purlins (or joists) and girts, in turn, support the roof and wall panels.
4.3 Lateral System
The lateral force resisting system proposed for this project will consist of a combination of structural steel moment frames and structural steel braced frames. Lateral resistance for the main building is derived from frame action in the direction of the main rigid frames and either braced frames or moment frames in the direction normal to the main frames.
4.4 Exterior Metal
All metal shall be 24 gauge or heavier and fastened with carbo steel or galvanized fastener screw. The building will include horizontal gutters and downspouts to adequately flow water away from the structure.
4.5 Electrical
Outdoor-rated LED light fixtures of sufficient luminosity will be installed overhead between each bay. Fixtures will be mounted in such a way as to not sway under windy conditions. One 4-gang GFCI electrical outlet will be installed on each column. Electrical supplies and installation will be the responsibility of the Contractor.
4.6 Color
The building will be tan in color with green trim to match existing buildings.
Picture is for color and basic design reference.
