About this file
This document is a Request for Quote (RFQ) Questions and Responses for a Pole Shed Construction Project at Big Branch Marsh National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) in Louisiana. Two key clarifications were addressed by the agency: first, the roof pitch is specified as a 3/12 pitch to ensure proper water runoff, warranty compliance, and account for wind loads and potential interior support columns. Second, the contractor will be responsible for the entire foundation, which includes dirt work and a 57 stone foundation. The site's preparation has already involved topsoil excavation, with clay material present at the project location.

FWS – Pole Shed Construction Project – Big Branch Marsh NWR, LA
Solicitation (RFQ) Questions and Responses:
1. After reviewing the scope of work we have a quick question about the barn dimensions. Can you confirm the roof pitch as well as the tall/low side measurements?
The roof pitch needs to be a 3/12 pitch for proper water runoff and warranty compliance, and accounting for added wind loads and potential interior support columns.
2. Can you clarify if the contractor will be responsible for the foundation, consisting of the dirt work and 57 stone foundation? It is that already in place?
The topsoil has been excavated and there is some clay material within the project site. The contractor shall be responsible for the foundation, consisting of the dirt work and 57 stone foundation.
