Haskell Indian Nations University CAMS Annual Maintenance Statement of Work (SOW)
Thesis America, Inc., provides, maintains and supports the Comprehensive Academic Management System (CAMS) Student Information System (SIS) for Haskell Indian Nations University (Haskell). Thesis maintains a cloud-based SIS platform as required per Haskell Agreement. That provides cloud computing for institutions of higher learning and the necessary building blocks for Haskell to benefit from virtual technology. CAMS provides modules for student admission, enrollment, academic grading and tracking of student records, course schedules, housing assignments, financial aid data, parking and other student services.
University Mission: The Bureau of Indian Education mission is to provide quality education opportunities from early childhood through life in accordance with the tribes’ needs for cultural and economic well-being and in keeping with the wide diversity of American Indian and Alaskan Native tribes as distinct cultural and governmental entities. The university has contracted with Thesis to use the CAMS proprietary software program for the university. Thesis is the only organization that provides the CAMS Enterprise software, it is the sole developer of the software and primary provider. The university relies on the proprietary software for day-to-day operations, it would be the most cost advantageous to the Government to keep this software in place to maintain university functionality.
eMobile Campus is the contractor hosting cloud-based servers and portals for the CAMS Thesis system allowing Haskell Students, Staff, Faculty, and contractors. The eMobile Campus portals are hosted to enter student demographics, fees, scheduled classes, academic grades, transcripts, books, housing, facility, and maintenance and much more. Haskell has been a partner with Thesis and eMobile Campus for the CAMS environments, database administration support, and problem resolution.
Background
Thesis Comprehensive Academic Management System (CAMS) is a reliable student information system for higher education that connects prospective and current students, faculty, and staff through portals to manage - admissions, registration, student records, billing, and financial aid. As a vital part of the University functions for Student Academic process, CAMS allows an integrated system approach for Accreditation requirements and student progress and tracking. Thesis CAMS for Haskell has been cloud based and requires cloud-based infrastructure and support level of expertise for the University. Thesis CAMS require infrastructure, connectivity, virtual private/secured network connection, access portals, security standards, active directory and other federal requirements for Information Technology, Cloud based, Virtual Systems, Database Systems and Cybersecurity Platform standards.
Objectives

• User Support
• Troubleshooting
• Enhancements
• Maintenance and Test Environment
These services will provide the university with a reassurance of the proprietary software to be working as needed.
Haskell also requires CAMS to meet the requirement of HLC accreditation.
Scope
Haskell seeks to renew the CAMS Annual Maintenance with Thesis to continue providing the cloud-based SIS platform for use and maintenance of the software platform and help desk support for the university.
Thesis CAMS annual maintenance services contract for the Comprehensive Academic Management System (CAMS) Enterprise student information system. CAMS Enterprise Access can be limited to VPN or selected access based on originating IP.
The CAMS software platform, in conjunction with CAMS data hosted by eMobileCampus data center deploys the general requirements set forth by The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). FERPA is a federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. No access is granted to any hosted server or college data without prior approval of designated point of contact from Haskell Indian Nations University.
Thesis CAMS assigns a Point of Contact (POC), as a benefit of entering into a partnership with Thesis CAMS Education Solutions. The goal is to maintain open lines of communication and ensure that questions or concerns are addressed. The POC will serve as your direct connection to Thesis Education Solutions. Some of the tasks that your POC will perform may include, but are not limited to the following:
• Coordinate implementation of CAMS
• Communicate regularly with your site’s CAMS Manager. Thesis CAMS will provide application updates for CAMS. System updates are provided on a periodic basis. These updates include enhanced functionality, updated/additional reports and reporting processes, additional system features, and application fixes. There are two primary forms of updates that are provided:
o Major Release - Major Release Updates are larger updates that include system fixes, general improvements, and application enhancements in response to requests by the user community.
