Clean sediment and debris from drain lines in restrooms, pipe chase and floor mop basin line by water jet all the way to the septic system.

Install swing joints or expansion loops to allow for pipe expansion. Securely anchor pipes so expansion can occur at these joints. Make joints between dissimilar piping by dielectric unions or flanges.

Use reducing fittings wherever a change in pipe size occurs. The use of bushings will not be permitted.

Install low point drains in cold and hot water systems. Install traps on fixtures and equipment requiring connection to sanitary system. Traps shall be same size as pipe on which they occur. Provide cleanouts for all traps. Vent traps as required by local codes. Install cleanout in waste line at each side of pipe chase at furthest toilet from septic system.

Provide piping with unions to permit alterations and repairs.

Unless otherwise indicated, exposed piping at plumbing fixtures shall be chrome-plated brass pipe. Sink P-Traps shall be schedule 40 PVC with threaded connections for easy cleanout.

Install water heater, including shutoff and all associated electrical and plumbing per manufacturer’s instructions, including branch circuit.

Inspect ejector pump pit for damage and/or debris. Repair any damage and remove all debris. Install sewage ejector pumps complete, with check valves, switches, alarms, etc., per manufacturer’s instructions.

Flush and clean sanitary lines and remove water and debris before final connection into existing lines.

Insulate exposed plumbing in restrooms and chaseways. All exposed plumbing in chaseways shall be insulated.

Partitions, doors and ancillary items Install internal wall reinforcement and reinforcement of toilet and urinal partitions to receive anchor attachments.

All items and components shall be plumb, level and rigid, scribed to adjacent finishes in accordance with drawings, manufacturer’s specifications and product data and as required by ADA accessibility regulations. Install at spacing and heights above finished floor as shown where dimensioned, square in relation to interior floor and wall lines.

Furnish, deliver and install all toilet and urinal partitions as indicated and as required by actual conditions at the building. The partitions shall include the furnishing of all necessary screws, special screws, bolts, special bolts, expansion shields and all other devices necessary for the proper installation and application of the partitions. Adjust and lubricate hardware for proper operation. Set hinges on in-swing doors to hold open approximately 30 degrees from closed position when unlatched. Set hinges on out-swing doors to return to fully closed position.

Install grab bars to withstand a downward load of at least 250 lb/ft, when tested according to ASTM F 446, locations and mounting heights as required by ABA accessibility regulations.

Install supports and reinforcements for all elements as required by manufacturer’s instructions.

Caulking All joints or gaps around doors, windows, baseboards or siding where water invasion may occur shall be filled with Benjamin Moore Elastomeric 465 01 Caulk, or an approved equivalent, not to be applied until primer coating is applied and allowed to dry a minimum of 24 hours.

Interior Finishes Employ the services of a Certified Tile Installer to remove and replace broken tiles on walls to remain with matching tiles, and to remove, clean and re-adhere loose tiles. Utilize salvaged tiles or new matching tiles. Use adhesives intended for the purpose

Paint ceilings and walls not intended to have a different finish. Comply with manufacturer’s recommendations in preparation of surfaces to receive paint and application of paint itself. Procedures shall include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following: Clean and remove oil, grease and loose foreign matter, including mold mildew, dirt and corrosion products, in a manner which causes neither undue damage to the substrate nor damage to, or contamination of, the surroundings or the paint system to be applied.

Pressure wash all surfaces.

Remove all cracked, chipped, and peeling paint. Sand walls and ceiling smooth. All holes, cracks and marks shall be repaired with wall material, fillers, sealants, putties as appropriate for the finish in accordance with industry standards before painting.

Adequately scuff and/or solvent or chemically etch as appropriate to provide satisfactory adhesion for subsequent coats.

Apply an appropriate primer to any bare surfaces.

Apply paint and related material with an undercoat plus two coats of selected finish color as specified in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations. Allow each coat to harden for the drying time (or time between coats) recommended by the manufacturer. Ensure each coat of paint is uniform in color, gloss, thickness and texture and free of runs, sags, blisters, or other discontinuities.

Unless otherwise specified, ensure that surfaces are cured and dry before applying additional coats of paints.

Remove all drips/runs or objectionable surface irregularities.

Electrical Make any repairs/adjustments to electrical service to install new fixtures.

Replace 240-volt branch circuit supplying 30 amp 4 wire outlet located outside women’s changing room with metal clad rubber coated cable.

Replace all exposed type NM cable where exposed below the ceiling joists as well as type NM cable located outside the Gazebo with type PVC jacketed MC cable except for those leaving the service panel.

Areas include lifeguard room, plumbing chase and both storage areas where NM cable was used to supply receptacles and switches and outside changing areas.

Install new LED light fixtures in same locations as removed light fixtures.

Install new GFCI duplex outlets in same locations as removed outlets with polycarbonate thermoplastic faceplates to match wall color. Install new photocell and associated outlet box.

Install hand dryers in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. Install dryers at locations specified by code. Install dryers securely to supporting substrate so that fixtures are level and aligned with each other. Use type and length of fastener as recommended by manufacturer for type of substrate.

Restroom entrances Carefully remove existing exterior wood louver screens as indicated on sketches. Drill in new lead anchors and hardware for new post feet. Assemble pipe fitting feet. Install new louver screen posts and feet as shown in sketches. Mortise new posts to match existing mortises to receive existing screens and attach louver screens to new posts with appropriate rustproof fasteners. Tighten up existing louver screens to remain with new stainless steel hardware as necessary. Paint new wood for louver screen to match existing.

Concrete Ramp Grade and compact granular subbase. Form and pour new section of ramp to a minimum 6” thickness, using W2.9xW2.9 welded wire fabric reinforcing the full length and width of ramp. Install expansion material between ramp and building recessed ½”. Follow pitch of doorway landing away from building.

Meet line and grade of adjacent pavements. Apply magnesium float finish.

Storage of Equipment and Materials The contractor shall be responsible for storage of all materials and equipment; the Park COR and / or Project Inspector must approve the contractor’s use of any space on the site in advance.

Upon completion of the work of this contract, the storage area shall be left broom clean by the contractor.

Plumbing Startup Test drain, waste, and vent piping on completion of rough-in. Close openings in piping system and fill with water to point of overflow but not less than 10 feet of head. Water level must not drop from 15 minutes before inspection starts through completion of inspection. Correct leaks and retest system.

Cap domestic water piping and subject piping to static water pressure of 50 psig above operating pressures or 150 psig maximum without exceeding pressure rating of piping system materials. Allow to stand for 4 hours. Correct leaks and loss in pressure and retest system.

Before start-up, verify that piping, and related systems have been tested, and operational and performance tests have been made. Disinfect all water piping and equipment upon completion of piping installation. Following disinfection, flush water from system through its extremities. Continue flushing until samples show quality is comparable with public water supply and complies with requirements of public health authority having jurisdiction.
