Install all piping with 0.25 percent slope toward drain.

Clean sediment and debris from drain lines in restrooms, pipe chase and floor mop basin line by water jet all the way to the septic system.

Install swing joints or expansion loops to allow for pipe expansion. Securely anchor pipes so expansion can occur at these joints. Make joints between dissimilar piping by dielectric unions or flanges.

Use reducing fittings wherever a change in pipe size occurs. The use of bushings will not be permitted.

Install low point drains in cold and hot water systems. Install traps on fixtures and equipment requiring connection to sanitary system. Traps shall be same size as pipe on which they occur. Provide cleanouts for all traps. Vent traps as required by local codes.

Provide piping with unions to permit alterations and repairs.

Unless otherwise indicated, exposed piping at plumbing fixtures shall be chrome-plated brass pipe. Sink P-Traps shall be schedule 40 PVC with threaded connections for easy cleanout.

Install water heater, including shutoff and all associated electrical and plumbing per manufacturer’s instructions, including branch circuit.

Inspect ejector pump pit for damage and/or debris. Repair any damage and remove all debris. Install sewage ejector pumps complete, with check valves, switches, alarms, etc., per manufacturer’s instructions.

Flush and clean sanitary lines and remove water and debris before final connection into existing lines.

Insulate exposed plumbing in restrooms and chaseways. All exposed plumbing in chaseways shall be insulated.

Electrical Make any repairs/adjustments to electrical service to install new fixtures.

Install new LED light fixtures in same locations as removed light fixtures.

Install new GFCI duplex outlets in same locations as removed outlets with polycarbonate thermoplastic faceplates to match wall color.

Install hand dryers in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. Install dryers at locations specified by code. Install dryers securely to supporting substrate so that fixtures are level and aligned with each other. Use type and length of fastener as recommended by manufacturer for type of substrate.

Storage of Equipment and Materials The contractor shall be responsible for storage of all materials and equipment; the Park COR and / or Project Inspector must approve the contractor’s use of any space on the site in advance.

Upon completion of the work of this contract, the storage area shall be left broom clean by the contractor.

Plumbing Startup Test drain, waste, and vent piping on completion of rough-in. Close openings in piping system and fill with water to point of overflow but not less than 10 feet of head. Water level must not drop from 15 minutes before inspection starts through completion of inspection. Correct leaks and retest system.

Cap domestic water piping and subject piping to static water pressure of 50 psig above operating pressures or 150 psig maximum without exceeding pressure rating of piping system materials. Allow to stand for 4 hours. Correct leaks and loss in pressure and retest system.

Before start-up, verify that piping, and related systems have been tested, and operational and performance tests have been made. Disinfect all water piping and equipment upon completion of piping installation. Following disinfection, flush water from system through its extremities. Continue flushing until samples show quality is comparable with public water supply and complies with requirements of public health authority having jurisdiction.

Clean-Up After completion of the work, construction debris, excess material and equipment shall be removed from the site and legally disposed. The contractor shall use a magnet of sufficient strength to ensure no metal is left behind. Upon completion of the work of this contract, work areas shall be left broom clean by the contractor.

Period of Performance Preconstruction meeting – Will be held within one week of contract award.
