Great Basin National Park Statement of Work for Trash Removal

1.2 Objective

Trash removal at Great Basin National Park (GRBA). Trash removal will enhance the park visitor experience and minimize wildlife access to trash. Visitors’ safety and satisfaction and the park’s employee’s safety will be improved.

Part 2: Contractor Tasks & Supplies

The contractor will be responsible for providing dumpsters, removing trash, and the proper removal of solid waste from dumpsters at Great Basin National Park. See below for locations and sizes.

2.1 Scope of Work

To procure trash collection and solid waste disposal services throughout Great Basin National Park.

Park headquarters address is 100 Great Basin National Park, Baker, NV 89311. Waste Containers are to be located in the following areas with the following size and quantities:

Maintenance Yard 1 minimum 2 cubic yard dumpster

RV Sanitation Station 9 minimum 2 cubic yard dumpsters

Baker Seasonal Housing Area-Baker

Nevada

Baker Ranger Station Office

Baker Ranger Station Residence

1 minimum 2 cubic yard dumpster

1 90 gallon container

1 90 gallon container

NOTE: The number of dumpsters will remain constant. The government reserves the right to relocate the dumpsters based on need.

Pick-Up Schedule:

Winter Schedule (January 1 - April 30)

Maintenance Yard pickup every other week, on Friday

RV Dump station pickup every other week, on Friday

Baker Seasonal Housing Area pickup every other week, on Friday

Baker Ranger Station Office pickup every week, on Friday

Baker Ranger Station Residence pickup every week, on Friday

Summer Schedule (May 1 - December 31)

Maintenance Yard pickup two times per week, on Monday and Friday

RV Dump station pickup two times per week, on Monday and Friday

Baker Seasonal Housing Area pickup weekly, on Friday

Baker Ranger Station Office pickup every week, on Friday

Baker Ranger Station Residence pickup every week on Friday

The trash haulers/roll-offs shall be covered at all times when traveling in/out of the park.

2.2 Period of Performance

The contract shall be for (1) year, with four (4) option years to follow.

Base Year: 05/01/2022 through 04/30/2023

Option Year 1: 05/01/2023 through 04/30/2024

Option Year 2: 05/01/2024 through 04/30/2025

Option Year 3: 05/01/2025 through 04/30/2026

Option Year 4: 05/01/2026 through 04/30/2027

2.3 Equipment

The contractor shall be required to use vehicles equipped with compactor-type units for collection

Vehicles shall be sealed to prevent leaking of liquids or other waste materials while collecting and transporting garbage.

Vehicles used in the performance of this contract shall be maintained in good mechanical condition so that there will be no leaking of fluids.

Dumpsters and containers are to be provided in the quantity and sizes listed above in section 2.1. Provide a product specification list that provides the salient characteristics, unique capabilities and special features, warranties of the trash collection containers.

Part 3: Contract End Items

GRBA personnel will inspect to make sure dumpsters are serviced. The contractor shall be responsible for litter spilled when emptying containers.
