STATEMENT OF WORK
Diesel Fuel Tank Replacement Bears Bluff National Fish Hatchery
Wadmalaw Island, SC 29487
Remove/Replace 500-Gallon Aboveground Diesel Storage Tank (AST) Replace the existing AST for diesel storage with a similar new AST (500-Gallon, double-walled, U.L. 2085 rated and urethane-painted). Replace the fixed galvanized ladder with handrails, pump, and meter for fueling vehicles and tractors with new of the same function and quality.
New tank must fit on existing concrete pad and not impede the road. Rough dimensions of existing concrete pad: 12’x6’ and 8” thick.
Quotes should include the following:
• Diesel Fuel Tank Ports to Include:
o 4" 8oz Emergency Vent, Male Thread w/O-Ring, UL & ULC (QTY 2) o 2" Upward Vent (QTY 1) o 2” port for containment tank leak monitor/gauge to include leak gauge installed
(QTY 1)
o 2” port for diesel fuel gauge, with liquid level gauge, included and installed o 2” ports for transfer of diesel fuel to/from generator (QTY 2) o 2” fill cap for tank top mount stainless steel spill containment box for top fill, with containment of capacity of 3-gal (min) to 10-gal (max) o 2” port for top-mounted diesel dispenser (see below for dispenser) o All additional ports to come with plugs
• All Stainless Steel Fittings
• Top-Mounted Cabinet pump (15 GPM, 115V AC, 60 Hz Cabinet Pump, 807C Gallon
Meter, Universal Nozzle, Boot, Retainer, with Anti-Siphon Hose, Hydrosorb Filter, Hanging Hardware, ¾” Whip Hose, Magnetic Reconnectable Breakaway, 22ft Hose, Automatic Swivel Nozzle
• Diesel Sign Package
• Urethane paint and paint color to be approved by USFWS prior to application
• Mechanical Drawing of storage tank and components, including dimensions and labels
• Any deviations from the SOW should be addressed in the quote. If specifications in the final product deviate from those listed in this quote, it will be the responsibility of the contractor to modify or replace the tank so that it meets specifications.
*Contractor is responsible for taking any measurements required to develop an accurate bid. All measurements in this SOW are approximate and must be verified by contractor.
Specs
Services Requested The contractor shall supply all material, labor, supplies, supervision, and equipment required to accomplish the following:
• Disconnect existing generator supply and return piping and set aside for re-installation
• Diesel fuel that is in the tank at the time of installation will need to be removed, stored temporarily, and added back to the new tank when installation is complete. Diesel from the old tank and added back to the new tank must be filtered.
• Provide and install a new tank using the existing tank pad and bollards
• Provide and install all materials required to connect fuel line to the generator.
• Install new tank mounted cabinet pump with hanging hardware & make final electrical connections using existing conduit/wire
• Reconnect generator fuel supply and return lines
• Install tank fittings
• Start up, train customer, and verify proper system operation
• Remove & dispose off-site the existing 500-gallon Fireguard rectangular tank and any fuel remaining in the tank.
• Dispose of all trash and waste materials off-site in a legal manner.
*Site visit is strongly recommended prior to submission of bid. Ask all questions prior to bidding. Once the contract is awarded, any information obtained, raised, or discovered after award is the responsibility of the contractor at no extra cost to the government.
All materials removed including trash, and other waste will be disposed of off-site by the contractor.
