STATEMENT OF WORK

Repairs to SMARDT Chiller Control Systems

Lahontan National Fish Hatchery May 18, 2023

1. GENERAL: The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Lahontan National Fish Hatchery (NFH) needs annual maintenance for the chiller and SMARDT Control system. This system is considered mission critical for spawning of the Pilot Peak Lahontan Cutthroat Trout. The Lahontan NFH has a requirement to produce Lahontan Cutthroat trout (LCT) for recovery and recreation purposes. The gamete production of Broodstock is directly proportional to chilled water over the spawning season. The chiller is integral to the success of the LCT program.

BACKGROUND: The Lahontan National Fish Hatchery (LNFH) houses a captive broodstock of a unique genetic strain of threatened Lahontan Cutthroat Trout (LCT) and produces LCT for recreation and recovery purposes. The LNFH uses dual compressor heat exchangers controlled by SMARDT chiller technology

We require a SMARDT chiller certified repair company to provide annual maintenance as well as respond to immediate technical support and troubleshooting due to the sensitive nature of the animals supported by this chiller system.
