PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT

SCOPE

Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility San Diego Detachment (DMF) located on Naval Air Station North Island (NASNI), has a need for leased portable demineralizer (DI) water systems. DMF requires one DI system at all times, fully operational and ready for use, with a second DI system available within 24-hours’ notice.

The number of DI water systems needed during a one-year period of performance fluctuates depending on the amount of work performed at the detachment.

Regeneration is the process or maintenance on the Demineralizer system that the company performs to exhaust its resin to restore it to proper ionic form to process water again. Previous contracts for DI systems have been allotted to 30 regenerations per contract calendar year.

SPECIFICATIONS FOR DEMINERALIZED WATER CONTRACT NASNI

1. This Specification describes the minimum requirements for the lease of demineralizer equipment to remove particulates, inorganic dissolved solids and chloroform from City of San Diego water at Naval Air Station North Island (NASNI). This includes vendor related services necessary to meet Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS) demineralized water needs during the five year schedule.

1.1. Where “demineralizer” or “demineralization” is specified, it shall be construed to allow the use of reverse osmosis, electro-demineralization or other appropriate continuous water treatment method as all or part of the water treatment process.

1.2. Estimated gallons processed is 40,000 gallons per week, but may vary + /- 30% depending on operational demands. Usage estimates may be revised yearly to account for changing customer workload conditions.

1.3. The contractor shall provide and maintain the required leased equipment listed in paragraphs 1 through 1.2 to include maintenance and regeneration necessary to maintain equipment in a fully operational condition. The demineralizers and filters shall be leak tested and certified for minimal leakage up to and including the inlet and outlet connections prior to delivery.
