About this file

This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for portable toilet rental and service at Cape Hatteras National Seashore (CAHA) in North Carolina. The National Park Service requires a contractor to provide and service 21 portable toilet units, including 10 standard and 11 handicap units, across three islands (Bodie, Hatteras, and Ocracoke). Two units located on Ocracoke Island will require ferry access for servicing.

The contractor's responsibilities include providing all necessary equipment, servicing units twice weekly (Mondays and Fridays), removing waste, stocking toilet paper, filling hand sanitizers, cleaning unit interiors, and applying holding tank treatment chemicals. During off-season months (January, February, November, December), Ocracoke units will be serviced once weekly. The contractor must maintain service during road closures, potentially using ferry access, and may be required to relocate units before major weather events. The contract includes compliance with safety regulations, environmental laws, insurance requirements, and specific operational guidelines for the National Park Service.
