About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details housing requirements for seasonal firefighters of the Winnemucca District Fire Office in Nevada. The Bureau of Land Management seeks lodging for up to 12 employees from December 1, 2025, to November 30, 2026, with specific accommodation requirements. Lodging must be within one mile of Fire Station 21 (5100 E Winnemucca Blvd) to ensure rapid emergency response, with options including hotels, motels, houses, apartments, or modular homes.
The housing requirements are divided into two periods: Year-Round (12/01/25 - 11/30/26) requiring 3 rooms/units, and Fire Season (04/01/26 - 11/30/26) requiring 9 additional rooms/units. Each accommodation must provide single-occupancy rooms with specific amenities such as HVAC, TV, linens, kitchenette or full kitchen, and laundry access. At least two units must meet the more comprehensive "House-Apartment-Modular Home-Park Model" specifications, which include additional furnishings and utilities. All rooms should accommodate employees who may be away on assignments for periods ranging from a few days to twenty-one days while maintaining their room and personal belongings.

Winnemucca District Fire Housing Statement Of Work
Description and Summary - Lodging is needed for Winnemucca District Office Seasonal Fire employees in Winnemucca, NV. At this time, it is anticipated there will be up to 12 employees with lodging needs, however some employees may leave their positions during different times within the period of performance. Given this fact, lodging options should allow for early departures, with the ability to reduce the number of rooms needed. Fire Employees currently occupy government furnished quarters, and the current contract is expiring at the end of November.
Lodging needs to be within a 1-mile radius of the Winnemucca District Fire Station 21 (5100 E Winnemucca Blvd, Winnemucca NV 89445), as firefighters must be able to respond to fire incidents, often within minutes of notification. Lodging within a 1-mile radius ensures the quick response time and ability to maintain public safety. In addition, not all seasonal firefighters have personal vehicles, and there is no public transportation available. Having lodging within a closer proximity allows for a more reliable response while on foot or bicycle. The rooms will be the employee’s primary residence during field season and should not be expected to move during the duration of their stay. The employees may be gone for periods of time ranging from a few days to twenty-one days on field or fire assignments. During these times away the employees shall not be expected to check in and out of the lodging and may leave personal belongings in the room.
