About this file

This document is an attachment titled "Salient Characteristics" that provides detailed technical specifications for the electromagnetic spectrum operations (EMSO) kits required by the U.S. Air Force's 1CMXS unit located in Ramstein, Germany. The EMSO kits must be compatible with NIPR-approved RFeye/Mission Manager software using VITA 49 protocols and have specific requirements for frequency range, instantaneous bandwidth, tuning resolution, frequency reference, sampling rate, inputs/outputs, and environmental operating conditions. The EMSO kits are an urgent requirement due to current operations in Eastern Europe. This attachment is related to a pre-solicitation issued by the Department of the Air Force United States Air Forces in Europe - Air Forces Africa, seeking potential sources capable of providing the required equipment, including RFeye nodes, antennas, and software.

Attachment 2 – Salient Characteristics

Salient Characteristics

1. 1CMXS requires tactical electromagnetic spectrum operations (EMSO) kits to deploy Electromagnetic Spectrum support capabilities to sites across Eastern Europe. This requirement is an urgent requirement due to current Eastern European Response operations and the equipment must be compatible with NIPR approved RFeye/Mission manger software using VITA 49 protocols.

2. The EMSO kit specifications required are as follows:

a) Single channel receiver

b) Switchable RF inputs 3 x SMA connectors

c) Frequency

d) Range 9 kHz to 18 GHz

e) Signal analysis

f) Instantaneous bandwidth 100 MHz

g) Tuning resolution 1 Hz

h) Internal frequency reference

i) Initial accuracy @20°C ±0.1 ppm typ.

j) Stability over temperature ±0.3 ppm

k) Ageing over 1 day ±0.04 ppm

l) Programmable sweep modes

m) Sweep speed at 2 MHz RBW 390 GHz/s typ.

n) Sweep speed at 61 kHz RBW 320 GHz/s typ.

o) User programmable modes free run continuous, single timed, user trigger, adaptive

p) Trigger-on-event modes user defined masks, actions alarms

q) Sampling

r) Resolution 16 bits per channel (I&Q) In-Phase (I) Component & Quadrature (Q) Component

• A stream of information about how to amplitude-modulate the I and Q phases of a sine wave is known as the I/Q data.

• In-Phase (I) Component: The in-phase component (I) corresponds to the real part of the I/Q data. It represents the amplitude modulation of a sine wave. Think of it as the “horizontal” component.

Quadrature (Q) Component: The quadrature component (Q) corresponds to the imaginary part of the I/Q data. It represents the phase modulation of a sine wave.

Consider it as the “vertical” component

s) Rate 125 MS/s I&Q

t) Frequency references

u) Selectable Internal, GPS or external

v) External input 10 MHz ±10 ppm

w) GPS holdover (option) Sync Backup Module

x) ± 1.5µs / 8hrs.

y) Processor sub-system

z) CPU Intel E3845 quad core

I/O Inputs and Ouputs

bb) Network 1 x 1 GigE, with POnE (Power over network ethernet)

cc) Universal Serial Bus 1 x USB3.0, 1 x USB2.0

dd) 2 x expansion ports 2 x SyncLinc with < 10 ns

ee) configurable as: RMS accuracy typical, trigger input, external peripheral control

ff) GPS antenna input 1 x SMA passive or active (3.3 VDC)

Attachment 2 – Salient Characteristics

Operating Environmental needs

hh) Operating temperature -30 to +50 °C (-22 to 122 °F)

ii) Storage temperature -40 to +71 °C (-40 to 160°F)

jj) Ingress protection IP67 (with optional end plates)

kk) Power consumption( needed low) Typical 40 W Maximum 55

ll) 120v/220v and 12 V power capabilities
