About this file

This document is a Description of Requirement (DOR) for Lidar Manipulation Hardware for the Geospatial Research Laboratory (GRL) of the US Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC). The requirement specifies a detailed suite of advanced electronic equipment for precise signal acquisition, measurement, and generation, including specific items such as a delay/pulse generator, rack mount kits, fast rise time module, DC source, remote interface unit, lock-in amplifier, and function generator.

The equipment is needed for an ongoing Flex4 project focused on designing a Fast-Tracking System using a single photon detector. The technical specifications are extremely precise, requiring devices that can capture and analyze subtle signal variations with minimal interference and maximum fidelity. The procurement includes multiple specialized instruments with specific performance requirements, such as 4 independent pulse channels, 8 outputs, 5 ps resolution, 1 ns accuracy, and various interface capabilities including GPIB, RS-232, and Ethernet. The solicitation is a Special Notice from the Department of the Army Corps of Engineers Engineer Research and Development Center, highlighting the critical nature of these high-performance scientific instruments for the research project.

Description of Requirement (DOR):

Lidar Manipulation Hardware

REQUIREMENT

The Geospatial Research Laboratory (GRL) requires a suite of advanced electronic equipment capable of precise and low-noise signal acquisition, measurement, and generation. The GRL requires devices that can reliably capture and analyze subtle variations in signals, as well as generate highly stable and accurate waveforms. This is critical for research, which demands minimal interference and maximum fidelity in signal processing. These electronics performance needs to meet certain specifications provided in below table. The subject matter experts at GRL conducted performance link budget to come up with the specifications and requirements for these electronics.

System Requirements: Table 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 provide the list of required items and the key specifications to be satisfied.
