About this file
This document is a detailed specification for marine doors to be installed on a vessel, outlining precise requirements for six different stainless steel marine doors with specific dimensional and technical characteristics. The doors are to be installed in various locations including the Pilot House (port and starboard), Galley, Deck Locker, and Engine Room (port and starboard), with each door having unique specifications such as rough opening sizes ranging from 23 1/3" to 32 3/4" in width and 77 3/4" to 81" in height.
Technical specifications mandate double-wall construction using Type 304, 18-8, 18 ga stainless steel, with internal fiberglass insulation, full-length piano hinges, and spring-loaded neoprene gasket systems for thermal and acoustic protection. Each door will feature a fixed tinted lite of 1/4" laminated safety glass, a Trio Ving #5312 lock system (keyed alike), hydraulic door closers, and a #4 satin finish. The doors are custom-made to fit specific openings and bulkhead thicknesses, with precise mounting requirements including 2" exterior mounting flanges and mounting holes on 16" centers. This specification appears to be part of a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers solicitation for vessel equipment upgrades.
