04. Specifications

a. Swell Compensator Cylinder

Provide all labor, materials, and equipment to procure two (2) swell compensator hydraulic cylinder. The hydraulic cylinder rod shall be chromed and built to or comparable to the specifications in the drawing referenced (Tomkins-Johnson Co.

Drawing 95340). If the cylinder differs from the provided drawing, an updated drawing and operating specifications shall be submitted reflecting the changes. The cylinder shall be coated as per coating schedule in paragraph e.

The cylinder shall be shop pressure tested to 1,000 psi. Cylinder shall be operated through full stroke, checked for leaks, and tested for leak-by of piston seals. COR shall be present for all testing.

b. Hopper Door Cylinder

The overhaul of the cylinder shall include lightly honing the inside diameter (ID) as per referenced drawing. Reassembly using all new seals and fasteners of comparable make and material to the original. The piston seals shall be u-cup style, suitable for 10,000 psi service. The cylinder shall be painted according to coating schedule in paragraph e.

The overhauled cylinder assembly shall be shop pressure tested to 3,000 psi. Cylinder shall be operated through full stroke, checked for leaks, and tested for leak-by of piston seals.

c. Hopper Overflow Cylinder referenced drawing. Reassembly using all new seals and fasteners of comparable make and material to the original. The piston seals shall be u-cup style. The cylinder shall be painted according to coating schedule in paragraph e.

The overhauled cylinder assembly shall be shop pressure tested to 3,000 psi. Cylinder

d. Draghead Gantry Cylinder referenced drawing. Reassembly using all new seals and fasteners of comparable make and material to the original. The piston seals shall be u-cup style. The cylinder shall be painted according to coating schedule in paragraph e.

The overhauled cylinder assembly shall be shop pressure tested to 3,000 psi. Cylinder

e. Coating Schedule

All hydraulic cylinders shall be painted according to coating schedule provided. All areas to be coated shall be cleaned / prepared to SSPC-SP3 or SSPC-SP6. Cleaned and prepared areas shall receive two (2) coats of epoxy primer, MIL SPEC MIL-PRF- 32171B, Type I, Class 1, 4-6 mils DFT per coat and two (2) finish coats of acrylic polyurethane meeting MIL SPEC MIL-PRF-24667C, Types I, II, III & VIII to a thickness of 2-3 mils DFT per coat.

05. Testing

The overhauled hopper door cylinder, hopper overflow cylinder, and draghead gantry cylinder shall be shop pressure tested to 3,000 psi. Cylinders shall be operated through full stroke, checked for leaks, and tested for leak-by of piston seals. The new swell compensator cylinders shall be shop pressure tested to 1,000 psi. Cylinders shall be operated through full stroke, checked for leaks, and tested for leak-by of piston seals.

COR shall be present for all testing
