About this file

This is a Purchase Description for federal procurement by the Portland District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (COE) for Bonneville Lock and Dam.

The procurement requires the purchase of a Miller ProHeat 35 Induction Heating System (Contract Number W9127N26QA142) to support critical welding operations for powerhouse infrastructure maintenance and repair, specifically for Headgate and Tail Log repairs. The contractor must provide the equipment and accessories within 8 weeks of award, along with one day of onsite training at Bonneville Lock and Dam. The system includes a ProHeat 35 Power Source (460-575V), an induction cooler with coolant, running gear, multiple output cables (10-foot, 25-foot, 50-foot liquid-cooled options), heating cables in various lengths (50-foot, 80-foot, and 140-foot liquid-cooled configurations), preheat covers, extension cables, temperature sensors, and woven silica insulation materials. All components are manufacturer-specified Miller products with designated part numbers and quantities. Bonneville Lock and Dam currently lacks an induction heating system and has been borrowing outdated equipment from The Dalles Dam; this purchase will reduce welding processing time and improve capabilities for structural repairs meeting HSS and engineered weld standards.
