Contracting Officer (KO) Brand-Name Justification in accordance with FAR Part 13.106-1

1. Contracting Agency:

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Vicksburg District Contracting Office, 4155 Clay Street, Vicksburg, MS 39183-3435.

2. Description of Action:

This requirement requires a chevron oil to be delivered to the Mat Sinking Unit for use during the 2025 revetment season. The estimated value for this requirement is

3. Description of Supplies/Services:

The Mat Sinking Unit requires the purchase and delivery of various types of oil for use by USACE vessels in support of the 2025 mat sinking unit season. The drums shall be delivered to the MVK Harbor no later than 31 May 2025.

• Required Oil o 20 drums (55 gallons each) of Chevron Rando HO ISO 100 o 3 totes (330 gallons each) of Chevron Delo 400 15W40 o 10 drums (55 gallons each) of Chevron Delo 400 15W40 o 5 drums (55 gallons each) of Chevron Rando HD 32 Hydraulic Oil or equivalent o 5 Drums (55 gallons each) of Chevron Rando HD 46 Hydraulic Oil

4. Justification for Brand-name Purchase:

The Vicksburg District requires a contractor to supply multiple brand name Chevron oil types (listed above) for its vessels. The high quality of these products provides high performance piston deposit control and turbocharger protection. The exceptional soot dispersion and wear control helps protect components contributing to maximum vehicle utilization. It provides long Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) life for minimal downtime and cleaning. This oil is ideal for heavy-duty engine oil is designed for extended drains and mixed fleets, in addition to cutting costs. As a result, it will be advantageous for the government to consider these products, as different brands will offer considerable risks.

5. Technical Certification: I certify that the supporting data under my cognizance, which are included in the justification, are complete and accurate to the best of my knowledge and belief.
