About this file

This document is a Q&A related to Request for Quotation (RFQ) 99SWC-S2474 for Occupational Health Services issued by the State of Nevada. The RFQ is seeking providers to perform various occupational health services including pre-employment psychological screenings, fitness for duty evaluations, and onsite physical exams, with an estimated annual volume of 2,600 exams. The State prefers onsite services except for the Carson City location, and is open to mobile services in rural areas. The deadline for vendor reference forms is September 27, 2023.

The current providers for these services are Concentra, Pershing General Hospital Clinic, and Wm. Bee Ririe Hospital Clinic. Pricing information can be found on the State of Nevada Risk Management website. The State is unable to provide specific volume projections for the secondary services outlined in the RFQ. The State will consider waiving the facility requirement for the Elko location but not for Carson City or Reno, and will allow for the pass-through of actual travel expenses to rural locations.

2ANDREW_KLEIN@CONCENTRA.COMProduct OverviewCan the State of Nevada expand on what they are looking for with the pre-employment psychological screening, psychological and psychiatric consultation.State agencies utilize standard psychological questionnaires that pre-hire candidates complete. The questionanaires are forwarded to contracted psychologists for review and interpretation. If indicated, either by agency policy or psychologist recommentdation, an interview with the psychologist is initiated. The psychologist then makes a recommendation to accept or reject the candidte for the specific position. In regard to the Fitness for Duty evaluations, these types of assessments are primarily related to the potential for workplace violence. The contracted psychologists utilize various questionaires and in person interviews to complete their assessments of at risk employees and provide recommendations in regard to fitness for duty and/or specific actions to mitigate the risks. The psychologist may recommend an evaluation by a psychiatrist if medication analysis or management is indicated.
3VEN18510Facility Location RequirementsPlease advise if there are any known factors where the Risk Management Division will waive facility requirements in any of the locations, including Carson City, Reno, and Elko.Waving the facility requirement for Elko is negotiable. Carson City and Reno are not.
4VEN18510Facility Location RequirementsPlease advise if the State will allow for mobile services at rural facility locations including Elko, Ely, Jean, Lovelock, Pioche, Tonopah, Winnemucca, and Wells, as well as the prison institution in Indian Spring.
It appears in paragraph 3.2.1.A. that the State prefers onsite physical exams (except for Carson City) to minimize employee overtime and travel costs. Please confirm. The State would allow for mobile services in rural locations depending on cost. Yes, the State prefers onsite physical exams(except for Carson City) to minimize employee overtime and travel costs.
5VEN18510OnSite servicesPlease advise if the State will allow the passthrough of actual travel expenses for a provider to travel to the rural locations?Negotiable
6VEN18510Onsite at Carson CityIn the event that the vendor does not have a facility in Carson City, will the State allow for onsite services at the Carson City facility? The State prefers a facility in Carson City and Las Vegas, as other agencies besides the Department of Corrections are required to have annual physicals done. Mobile sevices may be considered if proposal is advantageous and meets the needs of all agencies.
7VEN18510Projected volumeIn the RFQ paragraph 2.1, an average of 2,600 exams are estimated. Can the State provide the breakdown of anticipated volume, by location?
Similarly, in Paragraph 2.2, the secondary services are estimated at 50/year, except for pre-employment psychological screening which is projected at 150 in the north and 500 in the south. Can the State provide the breakdown of anticipated volume by location?File attachments in NVEPRO 99SWC-S2474 has an attachment entitled: "Projected Physicals for Years 2024-2028". The attachment lists the number of physicals by agency, projected for the North, South, and rural areas for the years covered by the RFP. As far as, Paragraph 2.2, the State cannot predict the volume of secondary services or pre-employment screening because pre-employment opportunities are a volatile figure influnenced by numerours factors and hard to predict/estimate for upcomming years.
8VEN18510Incumbent Identification and InformationWho is currently providing these services to the state? Can you provide the pricing currently enjoyed by the State for these services?
