About this file

This is an amendment (P00004) to RFP #9531CB25R0001 for Business Travel Accident Insurance Services for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), containing questions and answers from vendors and extending the proposal due date to December 2, 2024, at 15:00 ET. The period of performance is January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025.

The Q&A reveals key details about CFPB's travel insurance needs: There are 1,743 eligible employees across 5 eligibility classes. Travel is predominantly domestic with 1,928 average trips per year lasting 3 days each. International travel is minimal (only two trips to Belgium in recent years) with no employees stationed overseas. Most employees (1,260) travel 0-10 days annually, with only 10 employees traveling 11-25 days. MetLife is the current carrier, and CFPB does not use a broker. The policy covers employees while on travel rather than individual trips, and is not audited annually. The agency's travel team tracks employee travel internally.
