Questions and Answers
RFP 9531BM21R0002
"Radiological Services"
# Questions Answers
In reviewing the criteria for your bid noted above, specifically the term - “The radiological services shall include one or more of the following services: computed tomography (CT) scans, digital radiographs, and post processing of images. The contractor shall provide radiological services through the following four processes: 1.
Set Up 2. Scanning Single Slice, Volume CT and 2D Imaging 3.
Scanning MVCT Single Slice, Volume CT and 2D Imaging 4. Post Processing.”
- Does this mean you are looking for a company to provide CT scans?
We are a National Preferred Provider of Mobile Imaging Services; x-rays, ultrasounds, etc. We do not have our own CT scans; however, we do have professionals that are able to perform CT scans. Would this meet your needs?
Yes, the NTSB is seeking a company to provide CT scans with equipment located in the contractor's facility. Rather than working through a company to provide sub-contracted CT scans, the NTSB's preference would be to work with the CT scanning company directly, as the NTSB requires that the contractor have CT equipment available that provides images using a range of x-ray source strengths. The NTSB strongly prefers to have the various types of radiographic equipment be located at one physical location (within one building, if possible) to minimize the potential for damage to samples during transportation between machines and reduce delay in scanning as the scanning requirements are generally time sensitive.
Is there an opportunity for a Minority Woman-Owned business to participate in - Radiological Services SOL 9531BM21R0002 DUE 01/18/2021. How does a vendor reach out to the other vendors who may be bidding on this project for potential subcontracting opportunities?
Yes, minority women-owned and other small business contractors may submit a proposal for this requirement if such an entity meets all requirements of the solicitation. Due to the nature of this contract requirement a subcontracting plan is not required for this solicitation. Therefore, prime contractors are not required to seek small business subcontractor participation. Interested parties may seek such opportunities by reviewing the interested vendors list for the solicitation on beta.sam.gov website or by reviewing guidance provided by the Small Business Administration (SBA) https://www.sba.gov/federal-contracting/contracting-guide/prime-subcontracting.
3 Is this RFP a small business set-aside.
No, this RFP is issued under full and open competition. The associated NAICS code is 541380, “Testing Laboratories,” and the small business size standard of this NAICS code is $16.5 Million.
Is RFP 9531BM21R0002, Radiological Services, considered a new requirement or are there incumbent contracts? If there is an incumbent vendor, would you be able to provide the contract details (such as: Vendor Name, Contract Number, Award Date, Value)?
Services being solicited under RFP 9531BM21R0002 are currently being provided to the agency by Varex Imaging Corporation under contract NTSBD170001. The contract was awarded on September 10, 2015, for a total maximum not-to-exceed value of $1.5 Million over five (5) years.
