#3Proposal budget templateBudget: travelShould estimates for all in-person training be budgeted under subtask 4.1 or under the research projects in Task 5?Travel estimates should be broken out separately from deliverables. These estimates should be reported by year and across the 5 years of the contract. Please see the budget template for an example.

#7contract fundsseparate travel fundsIf during the project, travel funds are depleted, can funds from the non-travel budget be rebudgeted to the travel funds?Funds must be carefully monitored; however, funds can be redistributed per approval from the Department.
#8Solication Doc p48 p156Travel fundsOn p48 of the soliciation document, it says "This may also involve financial resources, such as RELs using travel funds to accommodate a face-to-face meeting with partners". Can we pay for partners to travel to REL face to face meetings with REL travel funds? This seems to conflict with p158 where it states "Individuals or entities that are recipients of REL services will not receive Federal reimbursement for their expenses." Also, what other non-invitational travel can we budget for?No -- the RELs cannot pay for partners to travel for face-to-face meetings with the RELs. Contractors travel to meet with the partners or hold virtual meetings with partners. The only excection is if the partner is doing a formal presentation at a conference with the REL on a project or partnership. In this case, the REL can pay for the partner's travel to the conference. RELs can pay for the travel of Governing Board members to the Governing Board meetings. This includes transportation, lodging and food costs. However, some REL GB meetings can be held virtually. For additional travel questions, please refer to the Department's Handbook for Travel Policy.

Page 48 referred to contractors' travel.
