• Questions and Answers provided below:
Question 1
We are a manufacturer and can build these in house in our own facility so they would be our brand. Would that be an issue to bid the job like this?
Answer 1
The bid allows for Alternates and there is a place in each grouping for you to include the brand you are bidding.
For each line item you can write in any information that is specific to your tarps.
Question 2
DOT-ITB-24-9107-DG On these tarpaulins and dump truck covers are there any special requirements for the covers. are they flat with a pocket on one side and grommets on the other? Do you need Grommets on the sides? IF so how far apart.
What material are you needing: a 14.9 oz Vinyl or Duck Canvas?
Answer 2
Please see additional specifications. As for the vinyl or duck canvas, either.
Question 3
On the dump Truck covers can we quote black material or do you need multicolor? I am guessing on the A or B that is material specific on which brand of material to provide vs bidding both materials for each size? We use a monster Mhsh which is much more durable material
Answer 3
Multi-Mesh is what has been requested and I believe that is what they are looking. If you have both, I would them bid both; however, if all you have is the black bid that. I will have to find out if there a specific reason for the color and I will not have an answer before the bid opens. The A is for the Donovan Special Multicolor Mesh Tarp, and the B is for the Leno - Weave Multi Mesh. At the bottom of each grouping there is a place to include the brand you are bidding. If you have specific part #’s you can include them in the areas for the size tarps you are bidding.
Question 4
I can get twitchell but may i ask why are you specifying the different material for each size of dump truck covers? Just trying to understand why the need to.
Answer 4
Those brands are not specific they are a guidance only. This bid is allows for alternates, those are just the brands we have had in the past that have worked well for the Maintenance crews.
