About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for Bid No. DOT-ITB-25-9086-JM issued by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Procurement Office for the Adopt-A-Highway Items procurement of safety vests and trash tongs. The bid is scheduled to open on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 10:00 AM EST, with an estimated total contract value of $100,000. Vendors are not required to bid on all items to be considered responsive, and there is no minimum order quantity. The contract will be used by Adopt-A-Highway volunteers for roadway cleanup activities, with items ordered on an as-needed basis by district coordinators.

The Q&A document clarifies several key bidding details, including that no bid bond is required, vendors do not need a local storefront in Tallahassee, and businesses from different locations (such as Miami-Dade) can participate. The procurement allows for flexible ordering, with coordinators potentially placing orders 1-2 times per year. Pricing details, including whether prices must remain valid for three years, are referenced in Special Condition 30 of the Solicitation Document. No samples are required, and the vendor submitting the bid will be considered for in-state preference calculations. The FDOT emphasizes that these items are for volunteers, not DOT employees, and actual order quantities may vary based on volunteer group needs.
