About this file

This is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (Form PUR 7776) from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for a Video Management System upgrade at the State Materials Office (SMO) in Gainesville, FL. The project involves installing a new video management system including a server with Siveillance software, 14 high-definition IP cameras, 4 pole-mounted NEMA enclosure kits, 7 wireless radios, camera surge protection modules, CAT6 cabling, and electrical materials. The posting period is from January 28, 2025, to February 18, 2025, with a contract term of six months.

The estimated project cost is $200,000, and Siemens Industry, Inc. is identified as the intended single-source vendor. The justification for single-source procurement is that FDOT's Access Control System was upgraded statewide with Siemens SiPass, and Siemens Industry is the only vendor who can provide the required proprietary Siemens licenses, systems, and components. Siemens does not allow third parties to hold their licenses or warrant work performed by others, making them the sole qualified provider for this upgrade that must match existing statewide installations.
