About this file

This is a Job Specification document for maintenance work on a U.S. Navy SRF Dive Boat at Sasebo. The work scope involves hoisting and setting a 50-foot dive boat (96,500 lbs full load displacement) onto designated docking blocks in U.S. Navy Dry Dock No. 2 (Pier PORT side) to accomplish underwater hull repair and preservation work. The anticipated award date is 6/30/2026, with a production completion date of 10/30/2026. The period of performance runs from 7/30/2026 through 12/10/2026. The work is being prepared at Sasebo and was prepared by T. Baba on 4/04/2026, with approval from S. Murakami (Code S225) and concurrence from S. Morooka (Code S231). The primary contact is T. Escritor-Yamada under Program Manager S300/S900 PMS320, with SRF Control No. 1301370704.

Key technical requirements include designing temporary structures and associated equipment to disperse weight safely across docking blocks without exceeding 600 psf bearing stress (2.9 tf/m²) or 20 long tons per square foot, with a minimum of 90 percent of blocks landing on longitudinal strength members or main transverse bulkheads. Contractor must submit one legible copy of drawings showing temporary structure arrangement and calculated bearing stress to the Project Manager, set and align temporary structures and docking blocks, provide access ways, connect the boat's hull with minimum 500,000 circular MIL cable for lightning protection, relocate blocks or wooden soft caps as needed, and return the boat to water upon completion. The SRF will provide docking blocks and temporary structures except soft wood, soft wood caps, and arrow wood. The dockside tower crane/SP-1 will be available. References include Standard Items (FY26), docking instructions (S9086-7G-STM-010/CH-997 R3), and welding standards (S9086-CH-STM-010/CH-074 V1R6).
