| 1 | Real quick, to clarify. All FERC shredders have auto-oilers yet on your 3rd CLIN the Whitaker Brothers model you have specified does not contain an auto oiler. In addition, the model your have listed (Intimus 502sf which is produced for Whitaker Brother) is particular to only manufacturer limiting competition. If you could answer the below, I would appreciate it. | FERC does not have a prefence to Auto-Oiler or not. As long as the machines meets cross cut standards, cost and is comparable or better(w/ validated specs) it is the determindation of the vendor to provide options. |
| 2 | Do you require an Auto Oiler? | In regards to less mess to clean up and limit the possibilties of additional parts being added or breaking on the machine, FERC's stance is the same as previously stated. |
| 3 | Will you accept an Intimus 602sf that exceeds the specifications of the 502sf in every way? | The Intimus 602sf will not suffice as it is no longer manufactored, this literature is in compliance with the NSA/CSS Evaluated Products List for Paper Shredders(which is stated in the SOW Background). In order to not limit the competition of manufactores providing any of these 4 machines will suffice: 1)Capital Shredder Corp. SS-16X SS-16X DOD High-Security Paper & Optical Media Shredder (papershredders.com) |
2)Formax FD 8732HS Formax FD 8732 High Security Combo Paper / CD & DVD Shredder Level 6/P (whitakerbrothers.com) 3)Capital Shredder Corp. SS-30 SS-30 (papershredders.com) 4)Formax COMBI 0030 Formax® Combi 0030 High Security Paper & Optical Media Shredder (globalindustrial.com). The machine in the use of this room must remain complaint with the NSA/CSS that was referenced and although the Intimus 502 was referecened we are looking to avoid any machines that do not meet current requirements and/or future standards.
