INTENT, USE, DURATION AND SCOPE

The purpose of this Invitation for Bid / Request for Quote is to obtain pricing for and procure a refurbished three-dimensional mammography imaging system and supporting equipment for Randolph Community College.

Randolph Community College intends to procure a refurbished three-dimensional mammography system to support Radiography student instruction, program accreditation requirements, and current Full-Field Digital Mammography (FFDM) standards. The equipment will be used for hands-on training, competency development, and demonstration of two-dimensional imaging, three-dimensional tomosynthesis imaging, and synthesized two-dimensional “C-View” imaging modes in a supervised, non-clinical laboratory environment. The system must meet or exceed the performance of a refurbished Hologic Selenia Dimensions mammography unit and include all necessary accessories, workstation components, quality-control (QC) phantoms, and Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) connectivity. Supporting items such as the uninterruptible power supply (UPS), compression paddles, clinical display monitors, and storage rack are required for full instructional and operational use. Installation, testing, and vendor-supported application training are part of the required scope of work.

The system must integrate with Randolph Community College’s existing picture archiving and communication system (PACS) and meet all state radiation-safety and shielding requirements as outlined in the Diagnostic Physics Incorporated (DPI) shielding plan. Randolph Community College anticipates a functional lifespan of seven to twelve years, with at least five years of full instructional use for the Radiography program. The selected vendor must provide acceptable warranty coverage, technical service support, and all documentation appropriate for refurbished medical imaging equipment. Room preparation, electrical upgrades, and radiation-shielding installation will be completed by Randolph Community College prior to delivery. The overall procurement goal is to acquire safe, reliable, accreditation-ready imaging equipment at the best value through a compliant and competitive solicitation process.
