8.0 INDEFINITE WORK
8.1 Reserved.
DRY DOCK NASA PUSH BOAT, CLERMONT II
8.2 Hull Bottom Repairs
Provide services and plant facilities to lay out the dock blocks supporting the vessel on dry dock as necessary to accomplish bottom plate renewal located, in way of the engine room, 48" on each side of centerline by length of engine room, approximate 20'-0".
Allow for crossing the forward and after engine room transverse bulkheads by approximate 18".
The pricing requested in this section shall be unit pricing to replace hull bottom steel only. No actual work will be authorized until the push boat inspections are completed.
Should any hull bottom repair work be required, the work must be authorized by a modification to the contract before any work begins.
In order to cover the cost to repair damages found after dry dock inspection and abrasive blasting, NASA will require the Contractor's unit price for labor including plant facilities and the percentage mark-up on in stock or purchased materials. Also, quote a price per pound for additional bottom plate and framing. Because deteriorated welds may be present in hull plate seams, NASA will require a lineal foot price for veering out and re-welding 1/2" and 3/8" plate butt welds. Bidders shall quote a unit price per pound of steel in place. Attachment E, pricing sheet #1 shall be used for pricing this work.
8.3 Cooler Recess Pockets Repairs
Provide labor, material, and plant facilities to weld, grind pits and welds within the cooler recess pockets. Pricing shall include unit cost for welding and grinding on a price quotation per lineal foot per pass of completed 3/8” welds. Provide a quote for replacement of the cooler grid guards located on the port and starboard sides of the vessel. The guards are approximately 16’ long X 2’ wide, fabricated from 1 ½” X ¼” thick and 2 ½” X ¼” thick carbon steel flat plate (dimensions are to be verified). See photos number 11 and 12 of Attachment C for photo of cooler guards. The new cooler guards shall receive the same coating system as the underwater hull. Attachment E, pricing sheet #2 shall be used for pricing this work.
