About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers file for RFQ 80NSSC27946679Q, issued by NASA for the procurement of C-Band RF Amplifiers and Switches. The solicitation requires four Pasternack PE15A4042 Medium Power Broadband Amplifiers and six Pasternack PE71S5003 High-Isolation PIN Diode Switches. The original delivery date specified was 12/18/2026. Key clarifications from NASA include: partial shipments are acceptable; a certificate of conformance is not required; brand-name Pasternack parts purchased through authorized sources are acceptable; and the correct Notice ID for submission is 80NSSC27946679Q (correcting a typographical error in SAM.gov).
Regarding lead times, NASA confirmed acceptance of a 24-week lead time for the PE15A4042 amplifiers with partial delivery permitted, and indicated willingness to adjust the delivery date rather than accept substitute amplifiers with equivalent specifications. The PE71S5003 switches are available in stock. For vendors performing partial shipments with separate invoicing and separate shipping charges not included in line item pricing, individual shipping line items are required for each shipment. Vendors must include a milestone payment plan in their quotes.

Vendor Questions and Customer Response - 80NSSC27946679Q C-Band RF Amplifiers and Switches
Vendor Questions:
1. If the Pasternack PE15A4042 amplifiers cannot arrive by 12/18/2026, will NASA accept a partial shipment or a later delivery date? Yes, partial shipment is acceptable.
NOTE: If you do partial shipment but invoice once when all products are received then the following is not required. If you intend to invoice for each shipment and shipping not included in the price of the line item, then a shipping line is needed for each shipment.
Also, milestone payment plan included in the quote.
2. Is a certificate of conformance or any special marking or packaging required? NO
3. Can you confirm that brand-name Pasternack parts bought through an authorized source are acceptable? Yes, this is acceptable.
4. RFQ. SAM.gov lists notice ID 80NSSC946679Q, while the attached RFQ cover page says 80NSSC27946679Q. The instructions require the notice ID in the quote email subject. Which ID should offerors use? My apology for the typographical error when entering the information in SAM.gov. The correct Notice ID is 80NSSC27946679Q.
5.As the solicitation expects the delivery date by 12-18-2026. When reaching out to the vendor, they quoted this lead time. Will it be accepted? This is acceptable and a partial delivery is OK with me.
Manufacturer Part # Description Qty Lead Time Pasternack PE15A4042 Medium Power Broadband Amplifier 4 24 Weeks Pasternack PE71S5003 High-Isolation PIN Diode Switch 6 In-Stock
6. The manufacturer has confirmed that the brand-name amplifier, Pasternack PE15A4042 (qty 4), is out of stock with a 24–25 week lead time, which cannot meet the required delivery date of 12/18/2026. The PE71S5003 switches (qty 6) are in stock. Since the requirement is brand name or equal, would NASA accept an in-stock equal amplifier with the following characteristics in place of the PE15A4042: 2–6 GHz, 3 W (34 dBm) P1dB or greater, gain in the 34–45 dB range, noise figure 7 dB or better, SMA connectors, +12 V class DC supply? If NASA has a specific gain or other characteristic that must be matched exactly, or would prefer to adjust the delivery date instead, please let me know so our quote meets the requirement. . I would prefer to adjust the delivery date instead of changing the specifications.
